    • Max. 5 words
    • Color: White or black on image

Layout Grid: Text Zone and Logo

One percentage for every format. The headline text zone starts at 34% of image height from the top, left aligned, the same in 9:16, 4:5 and 1:1. Percentage instead of pixels, anchored from the top, because the bottom exclusion zone varies by format while the top one stays constant. The zone runs from the left edge to 60% of the image width.

Text at 34% from the top, left aligned. Logo: one size, position follows text and motif.

    9:16 Story and Reel

    1:1 Feed, wordmark 20%

    Reel269 px (14%)672 px (35%)6% each side
Feed 1:1 and 4:5no UIno UIGrid crop 3% side (4:5)

Usable band for text in 9:16: 14 to 65% of image height, the Reel is the binding case. Text can start in 9:16 behind the side exclusion zone from 8%, in the feed from 6%.

    • SizeHorizontal wordmark 20% of image width (216 × 81 px). Filled monogram 8% (86 × 81 px). Both the same height, 1.4 cap heights of the feed headline. Applies to 1:1 and 4:5.
    • PositionFollows the text zone and the motif: outside the text zone, outside exclusion zones and grid crop, on a calm area of the motif, 6% margin, clear space of 1x dot diameter. Allowed corners: bottom left, bottom right, top right. If the motif carries an AI label, it sits at the top, top right by default; if the logo sits top right, the label moves to the top left.
    • Which markWordmark when the audience does not know the brand: paid ads, third party assets. Monogram on owned channels, when the audience can clearly identify the sender.

Stories and Reels: no logo. Instagram identifies the sender through the profile picture.

Four rules from the field test

    • Text zone widthThe text zone runs from the left edge to 60% of the image width, left aligned. If the headline's longest word does not fit the zone, the headline shrinks, down to at least 80% of standard size.
    • Short headlineOne or two words may be set large, 160px in 9:16 and 140px in the feed, but only if the headline then fits on a single line. Otherwise standard size applies.
    • Reading surfaceA continuous gradient with no hold zone: full opacity only at the edge, then a soft fade down to zero, plus fine grain against banding. The gradient ends just past the text zone.
    • Composing the motif for the zoneThe main motif sits in the right third, the left 60% above 60% height stays calm. Moving objects in the image need their own position note. Composition follows the format: social formats use this grid, 16:9 headers use the CMS center rule.

    9:16Fugaz One 110 px160 pxFira Sans Bold 56 px
    1:1 and 4:5Fugaz One 80 px140 pxFira Sans Bold 40 px

Line spacing for multi-line headlines: 0.92 as the standard. If a following line contains letters with marks above cap height (umlauts, accents, tilde, in any language), 1.05 applies to the whole headline, otherwise the marks run into the line above.
